M5 Pro Electric Scooter FAQs
How to Remove the Speed Limit on the Electric Scooter?
Purpose: Unlock the scooter’s full speed potential for use in appropriate riding environments.
Steps:
1. Turn on the scooter using the power button.
2. Hold down the left brake lever (ensure it is fully engaged).
3. While holding the brake, press the power button four times in quick succession.
4. The scooter will switch between speed-limited and unrestricted modes.
Note: Be cautious when riding without a speed limit. Ensure you're in a safe and legal environment for high-speed riding.
How to Switch Between Miles (MPH) and Kilometers (KM/H)?
Purpose: Customize your speed and distance units based on your regional or personal preference.
Steps:
1. Power on the scooter.
2. Press the power button five times to enter the settings mode.
3. Tap the power button once to enter P01 (display unit setting).
4. Tap the right-side power button until the number at the bottom-right of the LED screen begins flashing.
5. Tap once to toggle between:
1). 0000 = KM/H
2). 0001 = MPH
6. Wait for the number to stop flashing — the setting will save automatically.
How to Enable or Disable Cruise Control Mode?
Purpose: Maintain a consistent riding speed without holding the throttle, useful for long-distance travel.
Steps:
1. Power on the scooter.
2. Press the power button five times to enter the settings mode.
3. Tap the power button repeatedly until you reach P05 (cruise control setting).
4. Tap the right-side power button until the number "00000" starts flashing.
5. Tap once to change the value:
1). 0000 = OFF (cruise control disabled)
2). 0001 = ON (cruise control enabled)
6. Wait until the number stops flashing. The mode will now be active.
Note: Cruise control only activates after maintaining the same throttle position for several seconds while riding.
How to Set Zero Start / Non-Zero Start Mode?
Purpose: Choose whether the scooter can accelerate from a stop using the throttle alone (Zero Start) or requires a manual kick-off first (Non-Zero Start) for added safety.
Steps:
1. Turn on the scooter.
2. Press the power button five times to enter the settings menu.
3. Tap the button until you reach P06 (start mode setting).
4. Tap the right power button until the bottom-right value flashes.
5. Tap once to choose:
1). 00000 = Zero Start (throttle can start scooter from a stop)
2). 00001 = Non-Zero Start (requires a manual push before throttle engages)
6. Wait until the screen stops flashing.
Safety Tip: If you're new to electric scooters, it's recommended to use Non-Zero Start for extra control.
P03 – Wheel Diameter Setting!
Purpose: Ensure accurate speed and mileage display by matching the digital settings with your scooter’s physical wheel size.
Steps:
1. With the scooter on, press the power button five times to enter settings.
2. Tap the power button until you reach P03.
3. Find your actual wheel size printed on the tire (e.g., 80/65-6.5).
4. Tap the right power button until the value flashes, then adjust it to match your wheel diameter setting.
5. Wait until the value stops flashing to confirm the setting.
Incorrect wheel diameter settings will result in inaccurate speed readings and miscalculated battery range estimates.
P04 – Motor Magnet Count Setting!
Purpose: The magnet count (number of permanent magnets inside the motor) helps the controller accurately measure wheel rotation and speed.
Steps:
1. Turn on the scooter.
2. Press the power button five times to access settings.
3. Tap to scroll to P04.
4. Tap the right-side power button until the number flashes, then confirm or adjust the value.
For all Ruitoo electric scooters, the magnet count is 40.
If you change the controller, you must match this value with the motor’s actual magnet count, or you may encounter issues like:
1. Difficulty starting
2. Irregular speed fluctuations
3. Motor overheating
4. Vibrations or jerking motion
